THE HAMILTON RARE BREEDS FOUNDATION - HARTLAND, VERMONT
Editor’s note: Famous for Jersey cows, merino sheep, and the Morgan horse, Vermont is also home to 26 rare Poitou donkeys—the largest group outside of France. They reside at the 440-acre Hamilton Rare Breeds Foundation. The founder passed away in 2014 and is buried in the same spot as one of her beloved donkeys.
